BTC News May 26, 2021

Hi Everyone ,

I have good news! The Kerr Park courts could be ready as soon as the end of this week, and we have the go-ahead to open registration for the 2021 tennis season.

We have a new online application. You can find a link to the application on the Homepage of the website www.bracebridgetennisclub.com as well as on the Membership page bracebridgetennisclub.com/?page_id=810. Many thanks to Norma Schuyler and Sandy Bowra for volunteering their time to update the website and create an online application.

We are accepting e-transfers again this year and the application will walk you through this process. When you are completing the e-transfer, please use “the sport we play” as your security question, and “tennis” as the answer.

When you have completed all the required fields of the application and clicked or tapped submit you’ll receive an an acknowledgement email from “Jotform” confirming that your application was received.

If you need a paper application, please let me know.

If you want to be included on the June schedule, your completed application and membership fee must be received by June 10. Our goal is to begin scheduled play June 14

It will be tennis as usual – doubles play – but since we must adhere to the gathering limits, for now we will only schedule 2 courts at a time (or 8 players in total). We expect as the province moves towards fully opening we’ll be able to expand to all 3 courts.

A reminder to please practice good COVID safety and remember to:

  • Maintain a physical distance of 2 meters.
  • Bring hand sanitizer and use often.
  • Bring lots of water with you.
  • Avoid touching your face, benches, nets and posts.
  • Handshakes, high-fives and/or elbow taps are not recommended. A simple thumbs up from a distance is a recommended alternative.

Also, we’re looking for volunteers, including someone with a pick-up truck, to help empty the shed at Kelvin Grove and move it to Kerr Park when the courts are ready. Please let me know if you can help!

Thanks and enjoy your tennis!
